Текст песни с аккордами

    	    	Вступление

[Intro]

G C G
When the wind blows cold at night
                D G
The breaker’s melancholy
                                     C G
If you stand in the dark with your ear to the wind
                         D
You can hear the sons of Molly
G C G
Deep in the dark of the old mine shaft
                                D
You can smell the smoke and the fire
         G C G
And the murmer low from the mine below
                         D
Is the ghost of Molly Maguire

[Verse 1]

G C G
I'll tell ya boys Mickey Doyle is my name
             D G
I come from Carbon County
                            C G
And I shot the boss of the Lansford Mine
                    D
My soul is up for bounty
G C G
And I will die with my head held high
                      D
I fought for the men below
G C G
The men who work and fight and die
                      D
Down in a black hell hole.

[Verse 2]

G C G
I'll tell ya boys Edward Kelly is my name
                  D G
And I'm hanging high in the morning
                              C G
For I shot Jack Jones for skinning my bones
                            D
I curse the sound of mourning
G C G
And I will die with my head held high
                      D
I fought for the men below
G C G
The men who work and fight and die
                      D
Down in a black hell hole.

[Verse 3]

G C G
I'll tell ya me boys Alex Campbell is my name
           D G
No pistol did I fire
                          C G
And I will fall from the gallows wall
                    D
For being a Molly Maguire
G C G
Yes I will die with my head held high
                      D
I fought for the men below
G C G
The men who work and fight and die
                      D
Down in a black hell hole.

[Chorus]

                                     C G

                                     C G

This song goes by many names and comes in many versions - This is not, however, the Dubliners song, as it is
a completely different song. This is written originally by Chuck and Bob Rogers of the Irish Balladeers.
I find the best version of this song is the one titled "Ghost of the Molly Maguires" performed by
Hair of the Dog @ the Parting Glass.
