Вступление This is tabbed from the original demo of the song (Mitchell's first, recorded August 24th 1965), released officially October 2nd 2020 in advance of the Archives Vol 1: The Early Years album. The recording is linked here: https://youtu.be/1YOus2_u9sg To my ear, this seems to be in standard tuning. Another version popped up later, in a new key, with added stanzas,& in er more characteristic an open tuning. This version could be simplified by transposing down 3 steps (Am) & adding a capo on the 3rd fret, but I think it sounds truer played as tabbed here. The Cm7, Cm6, C9, Csus4 frills could also be dropped for simplification, but chord shapes if included are: Cm7: x35347 Cm6: x35x46 (or x35346) Csus4: x35563 C9: x35533 [Intro] Cm Gm Fm Cm Cm7 Cm Cm7 Cm {Verse 1] Cm Gm Day after day Fm Cm Miles and miles of railroad track Cm Gm Night after night Fm Cm Cm7 Cm Cm7 Cm Hummin' of the wheels Eb Gm Their hummin' seems to say Eb F He'll follow you someday Eb Gm G C Csus4 C9 C C9 Cm Cm But someday seems a million miles away [Verse 2] Cm Gm Day after day Fm Cm Make a dollar, need it twice Cm Gm Night after night Fm Cm Cm7 Cm Cm6 Cm Lie awake and dream Eb Gm Of days of auld-lang-syne Eb F Moonlight through the pine Eb Gm G C Csus4 C9 C C9 Cm Cm And linen table cloths all stained with wine [Verse 3] Cm Gm Day after day Fm Cm Watch the hands move 'round the clock Cm Gm Night after night Fm Cm Cm7 Cm Cm7 Cm Searching for my soul Eb Gm So this must be my fate Eb N.C.
