[Verse 5] E7 A By nightfall they had killed two deer and skinned 'em, B B7 E E7 And then a blizz-ard started in to blow, A D They couldn't find the trail that brought them up there, E7 A Bill finally said I'm lost Injun Joe. [Verse 6] E A And then a strange thing started in to happen, E E7 Through the snowflakes Bill could see Joe's slender form, A D He gathered wood and quickly built a campfire, E7 A But he didn't build it just to keep 'em warm. [Verse 7] E7 A He watched the smoke and soon found their di-rection, B7 E E7 And he led Bill home right through that ice and snow, A D Be-cause Bill spared a life his life was given, E7 A Back to him by Little Ingun Joe.
