The Wonder Years — My Life As Rob Gordon

Текст песни с аккордами

    	    	Вступление

The verses and choruses are quite easy and straightforward, but the little progression
that repeats throughout (D-Bm-A-A-B5-G5) is a little tricky until you figure out the timing.
Practice it a bit and you'll get it.

Power chords sound okay, but I think it sounds much
better if you open up to full chords, except the B5 and G5 I noted, and just palm mute
and strum alternately as the song dictates.

D - xx0232
Bm - x24432
F#m - 244222
G - 320033
A - x02220
B5 - x244xx
G5 - 355xxx

[Verse 1]

D Bm F#m
Kelly says that at the end of each relationship
                        G
The boy starts quoting lyrics from that Movielife song
D Bm F#m
And my mom says there's no songs with her name in them
                      G
Except one about a crackhead in Janie's Got a Gun

[Verse 2]

D Bm F#m
Well Matt says, when I mentioned him in Bar Bands
                       G
Kids started asking questions - it got weird
           D Bm
Kinda quick, and I had a dream that
                           F#m G
We named a kid we never had after Hannah Hold On
                             F#m G
And I haven't listened since
                        F#m G A
'Cause it tears me to pieces

[Chorus]

D G D
Someone keeps putting on all of the sad songs
                 G
I keep singing along
     Bm A
The jukebox turns and I'm gone
                    F#m
I poked in all my quarters
                 G A D Bm A A B5 G5
Looking for the perfect swan song to walk out on

[Verse 3]

D Bm F#m
Stevie said that if I woke up feeling hopeless
                                 G
That I should think about it different, that I had it all wrong
D Bm F#m
It's not the end if you call it a new beginning
                        G F#m
Plus, it's a chance to write some bitter fucking love songs
                             G F#m
I heard Quentin belt the notes to some words that Alex wrote
              G
About dying alone
        A Bm
And I felt sort of whole

[Verse 4]

Bm A G
It takes a fucked up head to think about dying alone
                         F#m
When you're in you're twenties
                           Bm
So I'm glad it's not just me
Bm F#m G A
It takes a fucked up head to think about dying alone already

[Chorus]

D G D
Someone keeps putting on all of the sad songs
                 G
I keep singing along

The jukebox turns and I'm gone
